Yeah for Donnie
I am so excited that Donnie has started a blog!! Now we can spend more time on the computer, looking at pictures of her cute baby! We still haven't had our baby yet. I went to the Dr. yesterday & am dilated to a 4 now. I am hoping I will go in to labor within the week, but who knows! I am trying to enjoy my days of feeling & looking like a whale, getting up five times a night to go to the bathroom, & having only one outfit that fits! Pregnancy is so much fun....it is a good thing we get rewarded with a cute, cuddly newborn!

Babies
I just wanted to say congratulations to Donnie & Brett Flaherty on the arrival of their new baby boy, Bradock Brett (as some of you may already know). He is adorable!!! He was born April 17th & weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz & was 19 1/4 inches long. Also, speaking of babies, Amy & Grant (my brother & sister-in-law) are having a special fast for their baby Samuel this coming Sunday. He is not yet born & has been diagnosed with a birth defect in which he will need many surgeries. It would be great if you could include baby Samuel in your fast! We love & miss Grant & Amy & their kids sooo much & wish we lived closer. But, we have faith in our Savior and His eternal plan for us as families. Thanks!

Need your Help
Okay, so I went to the Dr. this afternoon & I am 80% effaced & dilated to a 2. So I am thinking when am I going to have this baby?? What do you guys think and were you dilated, even just a little bit, for more than a week? I have a really bad memory & pregnant brain so I can't remember what I did with my first two.....help!! I would also love to hear advice on what to do to go in to labor. Thanks!
Cowboy Up
Our nursery is almost done! On Tuesday I painted the top half & suprised Layne. Luckily, he went to a Diamonbacks game that night & didn't get home until late. So I had plenty of time to finish. Painting is such hard work, I had totally forgotten. But what is painting with out a few accidents? Of course I spilled some paint on the floor and scuffed the ceiling (but don't worry Layne I got it out of the floor ). It was also hard because my two little helpers, Caleb & Carter, wanted to paint. They didn't understand that only "mommies & daddies" can paint with wall paint. I am glad it is done!. I can't ever get my pics. to go where I want them to! ahhhh!

Steph's Shower
This past weekend we threw a shower for my sister Stephanie. She is having her first boy on May 14th, she is due one day before me! We got a big sub from Ned's, a vanilla bean Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory, and had two chocolate fountains going, one white chocolate died blue & one brown chocolate. It was so fun to see our old friends, the Stokers, and I am excited that Teresa has joined us fellow bloggers. Yeah Reesers!

Oatmeal Pancakes
I love breakfast so I thought I would share one of our favorite breakfast recipes. We make it every Sunday. It takes some preparation, but it is totally worth it!
Mix & chill overnight:
2 c. oats
2 c. buttermilk
In the morning add:
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 c. melted butter (cooled)
2 T. sugar
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 T. cinnamon
1 t. salt
Add more buttermilk if needed then scoop 1/4 c batter on to hot griddle & serve with buttermilk syrup. (recipe follows)
1 cube butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
Bring butter, sugar & milk to a slow boil & boil 1 minute. Take off heat & add 1 t. vanilla & 1/2 t. baking soda. Be careful & keep stirring so it doesn't boil over. Stores in fridge for 1 month.
Easter
Easter was really laid back for us this year. I forgot to take pictures of my kids in their Easter outfits, oh well there is always next year! I went to Fry's on Saturday night (with all the other procrastinators) & of course there was NOTHING left. I couldn't even find my all time favorite kind of Easter candy, mini eggs! I love them!!!

The Good, the bad, & the MUDDY!
Time for some Fun!
I am an offical blogger! Thanks to all my good friends who keep me informed & in touch with reality. The blog site was actually really easy to set up, even with my "pregnant brain" (that has not been working well these day). The worst was last Friday, when I ran into a parked car!! Hopefully, my kids will forget the choice words I said....thank goodness for forgivness! Oh, don't worry I cried like a baby when I had to tell the lady that yes I was the one who smashed the rear end of her car!
