Its crazy how Brody used to be my 'baby'...I used to think he was so little, until Brinkley arrived. Now Brody just seems like a giant. I think having a new baby in the house has been the toughest on him. He is super easy going & entertains himself most of the time. But, when ever I am feeding Brinkely (which is every 2 hours), Brody wants me to hold him too. Poor little guy. He LOVES passy's especially Brinkley's pink ones. He plops them in his mouth along with her bottles, full of expressed milk, I might add...
I often feel guilty that I have not been able to spend time with my boys. Brinkley has been my whole life the past couple of weeks. So while Caleb & Carter were away & Brinkley was sleeping, I was feeding Brody lunch. I was having my 'moment' with him. I gave him ketchup with his chicken fingers & let him go to town. He made a big mess & loved it. I just sat & watched him enjoy the pile of red dip.
He is the cutest thing ever!
Here are some random pics of Brinkley. I can't tell you how HARD it has been the past couple weeks. I am just trying to get my head around 4 kids...of course I got mastitis really bad & couldn't even move...but it seems to get easier every day, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks again to EVERYONE who has helped out, taken the kids & brought us meals...I don't know what we would do with out our family & friends!!

We have a baby sister!
I brought Brinkley home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. My brother Scott was going through the temple at the same time (I was bummed I couldn't be there) so Layne was there supporting him. I couldn't wait to get her out of the hospital, so I decided to bring her home myself. The boys are so excited to FINALLY have their baby sister here.
Caleb loves to hold her and kiss her. Caleb & Carter woke up this morning & came in to my room & didn't want to leave because Brinkley was in there.

Carter has been asking the funniest questions. He wants to know "How did the baby come out of your belly?" and "When is grandma going to have a baby?" and "Why is your tummy still big?" He is so innocent & sweet...he is a crack up, I just love him!
My grandparents were down to support Scott, so it was fun they got to see Brinkley.
I think I got one hour of sleep last night...we will see what tonight brings!!

Brinkley Peterson
I just thought I would give everyone an update really quick, before I head off to the hospital. Brinkley made her arrival early Sunday morning, June 8th, 2008. She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz & was 19 & 1/2 in long. She has a ton of black hair...but her eye brows are light...so my guess is she will have blonde hair.
She is in the NICU right now...she was three weeks early, so her lungs aren't fully developed. She is doing really well...she is off oxygen & starting to take bottles. Its been hard not having her home with us...but I am trying to look on the bright side...at least I have been able to get some good sleep. I am so thankful for everyone who has helped with the boys & brought us meals...hopefully she will be home Thursday or Friday!!!

The Guessing Game

I had a Dr.'s appt yesterday. I am 90 effaced & dilated to a 3. I thought for sure I was in a labor last night...I was having contractions, but they stopped. I have been really crampy & feeling horrible lately...but, I am not getting too excited yet. I remember with Brody I was dilated to a 4 for like 2 weeks. It sure would be nice to have this baby early though!! I am hoping that at my next Dr.'s appt, in a week, he will get things going for us....until then, I guess its just a guessing game, when will Brinkley arrive????

Brinkley's Room
So I thought I'd better do a new post...I was getting sick of looking at my stitches!! My friend Barbie & I have been busying decorating. Here are some pics of Brinkley's room...and yes we finally decided on a name...BRINKLEY PETERSON!! Yepppeeee! (no middle name was Layne's only request)
Here is my absolute fav diaper bag...I even got it off e-bay! I LOVE good deals!
Here is Brinkley's cute bedding. I still need to get a green crib sheet. I LOVE how it turned out!
Layne's cousin, Jeffery came over & installed the cute chandelier that Barbie found on clearance at Home Depot. I got the crib off Craigslist-$30.00 & the dresser for $50.00.

I am still waiting for my brand new Pottery Barn Rocking Chair to arrive....haha in my dreams!!
This picture is the before picture of Brody's room.
And here is the after...let me tell you I HATE those 3 little windows. They face towards the east, so guess who wakes up at 4:00 am every morning when the sun comes up? I wanted to put some tin foil up there, but Layne wouldn't let me....lol!

So my body is SO READY for Brinkley to arrive....I am totally worn out, swollen, and carrying BRODY up and down the stairs makes my knees burn! I am really scared to have two so close together, but I know if I can get through the first month, we will be okay! My visiting teachers came over the other day & I totally had a break down...talk about embarrassing!!! I wasn't even sure why I was crying....those sweet ladies didn't know what to do...man these hormones are brutal. But hopefully I only have two more weeks....cross your fingers for me!!
I am still waiting for my brand new Pottery Barn Rocking Chair to arrive....haha in my dreams!!
Scott should be getting his mission call in the next couple of days...I'll keep you posted. WOHOOOO!!

Stitches Anyone?
My dermatologist's office called me back a couple days ago. They biopsied the bump on my forehead and it was a basal cell carcinoma. They wanted me to come back in so the Dr. could make sure he got all of the cancer out. I thought okay no big deal...and I scheduled another appointment.
Luckily, my mom insisted that she come with me to the appointment. I think I am still in shock with what he had to do, I had no IDEA it was going to be like a major surgery. The Dr. explained everything to us, and it all made perfect sense. He had to make sure and cut all the cancer out. He could only stitch it a certain way because if he pulled the skin together the wrong way one of my eyebrows would be higher than the other. He was also very careful and made the incisions in the folds of my forehead wrinkles. I even asked him if I should be seeing a plastic surgeon and he assured me no. But, I still have my doubts...I guess we will see how it heals.
I got like 30 STITCHES, but that wasn't the worst part, BOY did the anesthesia shots HURT!! Just picture a HUGE pregnant girl, leaned back in a chair, feeling like I can't breath because the baby is up in my lungs, trying to keep from going in to labor because I am so tense, all while I am sweating like a HOG!
The thing I have learned from ALL this is to 1. GET CHECKED BY A DERMATOLOGIST EVERY YEAR & 2. WEAR SUNSCREEN!! I remember my SIL was telling me her & her kids get checked by the Dr because they have a lot of moles. I remembering thinking I am not very moley so I thought I was in the clear, boy was I WRONG...if you have any red looking bump, that doesn't go away, GO TO THE DR! Also, lather on that sunscreen. My Dr. said if you wear sunscreen from 2-18 yrs of age your risk of developing skin cancer goes down 80%!
I go back in 10 days to get the stitches removed...I can't wait...every time I raise my eyebrows or brush my hair it HURTS. Although I must say I am grateful it was not a melanoma, it could have been ALOT worse. I will take a scar on my face any day over full blown cancer!!

Our Preschool Graduate
Caleb's last day of preschool was today. He went to Sonoma Ranch Elementary M-F from 1:30-4:00 pm.
They had a water party today to celebrate the school year being over. The weather wasn't too bad...it was hot, but windy.
Here is Caleb with the TA Miss Kari.
Caleb & his teacher Mrs. Laswell.
Caleb & I
Caleb & some of his buddies (Zachary, Caleb, Carson, and Isaac) eating Krispy Kremes, yum. Speaking of Krispy Kremes when did they raise their prices to $7.00 a dozen?? Ouch!!!
This is what Caleb pulled out of his back pack today, his diploma & hat. Every day it was always a surprise to see what he brought home. We would walk inside the house & Caleb would tell me to "Close my eyes & keep, keep, keep, keep them closed" then he would place his newest craft in my lap. He always seemed to find the crafts that 'accidentally' got in to the trash can....I need to start a scrap book of all of his fun crafts & projects because our fridge is full of them!
Carter had to get in some of the action, too. Carter is now excited to have his favorite play mate at home with him 24.7 this summer....now what are we going to do to stay busy???
