FHE Fun

For FHE tonight we decided it was time to carve our pumpkin. The boys were sooo excited, especially Carter. He was running around the house, or shall I say bouncing off the walls, just happy and excited. What joy is gives me as a mom to see my boys get so happy about the smallest, and simplest things. I love my kids, or all children for that matter, because they are filled with such happiness, joy & light. Life is so simple to them-the way it should be. Here they are getting their hands all "slimy".
Here is a pic of me (I know, I am a poser, what can I say). I toasted the pumpkin seeds like my mom used to do....I remember them tasting A LOT better back when I was a kid, maybe because I knew that trick or treating was not very far away.....but they sure smelt good.
The finished product.....we LOVE HALLOWEEN!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch with Jeffrey, Barbie & their kids.
Here is a picture of the Barton family, Jedidiah, Jeffrey, Mia, Barbie & Bella. Barbie looks GREAT after having a baby 6 weeks ago!
Here is the kids on the hay ride. They were all so excited they got to wear sweaters, a novelty we don't enjoy much here. Carter put his on at about 5:00 pm & didn't take it off until we got home.
Layne being a good sport & holding Brody, what CuTIes! If you have not been to Mother Nature's Farm (Baseline & Harris) it is really fun. There is even a coupon you can print off of their website for a free adult admission.

Scootin' Suprise

Brody has been getting up on "all fours" lately. I don't know if I am ready for him to crawl yet, but he is such a fun baby. He spits up more than any baby I know, except for maybe baby Gus. Sorry if you couldn't handle the spit up part, just be glad you didn't have to clean it up, yum! I bet Andy is gagging right now, ;-)!

Halloween Fun

This week we had a Halloween party over at our house for our activity day girls. And of course, I did WAY too much. I should have toned it way down but didn't realize that until AFTER the party was over & it was time to CLEAN up, yuck. But, the girls had fun. Here are a picture of the pumpkin favors I handed out. They were really easy to make....just orange craft bags & floral tape. Of course I had to decorate my house....my boys loved "helping me" cut out all the bats. Or shall I say they loved cutting up all my scraps in to bite size pieces.
I don't know which I was more proud of, the final product, or the fact that we cleaned up the GIANT mess before Layne got home!
Here is a picture of all the GOODS, of course we had ALOT of treats. I borrowed a chocolate fountain from my mom & scorched the chocolate....oopps! It was still good to eat....even though it never ran through the chocolate fountain.
Here is a pic of my mantel. My friend Brooke makes the cutest boards. She helped my do these ones....hers are WAY cuter.
I couldn't leave this one out....don't you love how they all match?? What is even better is Layne got them all dressed!

The Dinosaur Museum

Today we went to the Dinosaur Musuem with Brooke & her boys (great idea Brooke). Our kids are all around the same age, so we always have alot of fun together, not to mention I adore Brooke! This picture was supposed to show up last, but I am too lazy to try & fix it. But what would a trip to Main St be with out a picture on the pink couch?
The boys were all super excited to see the dinosaurs. Carter kept asking if they were real or "pwetend".
Caleb, Cotton, & Brody
Digging for some gold...we even got to take some home!
This picture is hillarous! There was a jail there & the minute we walked in to Carter started bawling. He did not like it!
As soon as we left the "place for bad guys" Carter was him self again.

Of course we ate at Sweet Cakes & I ate one too many cookies. All in all it was a FUN day!

Happy Birthday George!

Today is my father-in-law, George's birthday! Here are some of the reasons why we love our "Papa George".
  • He is a farmer-that word says it all-he is a HARD worker!
  • He works hard, but plays hard too. He loves taking his family on vacations, out to eat, & just plain loves to spend time with his grandchildren.
  • His sense of humor-he loves to joke around & laugh & I don't think I have ever seen him in a bad mood.
  • His closeness to his Heavenly Father. He is a great example of the person I want to become.

We LOVE YOU!!

Bad, bad morning

This morning has been very eventful at the Peterson house. First, I left the sugar out this morning (I had to add some to my Rice Krispies), bad move. I was talking on the phone & saw Caleb hiding in the corner with a big bowl of none other than SUGAR. And yes it got every where! Then I put Brody in his jumper, walked out of the room & ran back in when I heard him screaming. My sweet (very sarcastic) boys tipped the whole thing over & he was hanging out of the seat with one foot stuck. Of course they were hiding. After a tense moment, I put them in their room & a couple minutes later heard water running in the bathroom. I ran in there-bubbles were every where, soaking towels, marker all over their arms & markers in the toilet!!!! Not to mention they dumped the humidifier water ALL over!!! HELP ME & its only like 10:00 am! I thought my boys were too old to do this kind of stuff! I need to get out of the house!

First hair cut

A couple weeks ago Brody got his first hair cut. He was sporting a SUPER LONG mohawk! Here is the before pic: And now the after, thanks mom for helping!Do you notice he has two different colored eyes? One is all blue & the other is brown with a little bit of blue on the bottom. How unique...it will be interesting to see if they change any more!
