Sunday, Sunday

(I stole this cute 'survey' off Shelly's blog, thanks girl!)

1. Where would you say your testimony is the strongest? Right now I would have to say in the area of prayer? I know Heavenly Father hears our prayers.
2. What do you struggle with the most (church related)? I have to pick just one?? ;-) I struggle with lots of little things, like finding the time to read my scriptures or going to Sunday School, lately I have been hanging out in the hall with Brody.
3. Do you have your food storage? Yes, we try to order a little bit every month. But of course I have A LOT of sugar, can't live with out that!
4. Do you have a favorite scripture? What is it? I really like this quote I read off of my friend Sarah's blog, it is so inspirational. Modern day revelation is just like scripture, right? You might have to read this one twice, I know I did!
The Spirit "quickens all the intellectual faculties, increases, enlarges, expands, and purifies all the natural passions and affections, and adapts them, by the gift of wisdom, to their lawful use. It inspires, develops, cultivates, and matures all the fine-toned sympathies, joys, tastes, kindred feelings, and affections of our nature. It inspires virtue, kindness, goodness, tenderness, gentleness, and charity. It develops beauty of person, form, and features. It tends to health, vigor, animation, and social feeling. It invigorates all the faculties of the physical and intellectual man. It strengthens and gives tone to the nerves. In short, it is, as it were, marrow to the bone, joy to the heart, light to the eyes, music to the ears, and life to the whole being." --Parley P Pratt
5. What is your favorite Church hymn? "I Need Thee Every Hour"
6. Do you have Any Sunday Traditions? Roast dinners & baking cookies, yum! And of course, gotta have that Sunday afternoon nap!
7. Do you have a Patriarchal Blessing? Yes, I got it in Junior High School & it helped guide my life A TON!
8. Do you believe in angels? Yes. I believe that a lot of us are angels to others & don't even realize it.
9. Do you like the ward you're in? Yes...I still feel like we are new, even though we have been here for about a year.
10. What callings have you had? Young Women's, primary, Sunday school teacher, Faith in God, Relief Society enrichment, pianist
11. What calling do you want? I have to want a calling, jk! I don't have a preference-any one that will help me grow.
12. What calling do you hold now? Faith in God, activity days with the 10 & 11 years olds, so FUN!
13. Who out of your friends do you get spiritually lifted from? I think at one time or another they all have uplifted me, that is why I LOVE my friends...but most recently Amber sent me a sweet e-mail which I totally needed! I know she followed the promptings of the HG-thanks girl!
14. Personally what do you need to work on with the church? I personally need to spend more time caring about what I look like on the "inside" as opposed to what I look like on the outside. There is so much emphasis & pressure on us women about what we look like. It is totally Satan...I need to spend more time becoming spiritually beautiful because that is what is really important.
15. Were you married/sealed in a temple... if so, which one? Mesa, Az on July 12, 2000 or was is 2001? (Layne is going to kill me) Okay it was 2001! He even proposed to me there on Mother's Day!
16. Do you have a favorite temple? I LOVE them all...of course, who wouldn't....but I went to the New York Temple with my in-laws & that was really cool! It was so QUIET inside even though outside the streets were so noisy....we have to go there again!

Two minor details...

Okay...so I have two things I have been meaning to blog about. Here goes:

#1. Check out this new blog, ourcookingsite.blogspot.com. My friend, Briene's sister (you follow?) invited me to post some recipes. The Walters are awesome cooks...so you will for SURE get some tasty recipes.

#2. My mom is selling her vinyl for WHOLESALE (which is alot cheaper than retail) to any ward who wants to do a SUPER SATURDAY or enrichment project. She has TONS of cute ideas. Check our her blog here. All of her contact info is on her blog so spread the word! She will even ship her vinyl out of state. In fact she is doing an enrichment right now for a ward in Oregon.....its a smokin' deal! Who doesn't love a cute holiday decoration for super cheap?

Two Little Monkies Jumping in the Bed!

I just had to post this cute school picture of Caleb! This one will be in his scrapbook for sure (the one I haven't started yet)!
Okay, so Layne went & played basketball this morning & when he came home, this is what he found! Layne said they were both just smiling having a great time. Caleb woke up & must have heard Brody & decided to get in his crib & hold him.
Its a good thing Layne found them first & thought it was so cute. Me-I think I would have been a little mad....what a good little helper! Mmmmm....maybe Caleb could sleep in the crib with Brody & feed him his bottle at night?? Haha, in my dreams!

Toot, Toot

Back in the 'good old days' my mom was the coupon queen (her & Sharla Stoker). She was the person that NO ONE wanted to be standing behind in line. She had 2 huge tuber wares FULL of coupons. Back then I hated going grocery shopping with her because of all the rude stares we would get from people. But NOW I LOVE going grocery shopping with her. Funny how times have changed!

Lately, I have been going to the store about once a week & dropping at least $100 bucks each time. Man that really adds up!! So I have decided to do better~clip coupons & shop the sales...I am turning in to a Terol Jr. (my mom).

I went to Frys & got all the stuff above for $22.70! What a bargain...my kids think they have died and gone to heaven because of the sugar cereal....I might have to re-think that purchase, especially when they start bouncing off the walls in the morning. Thanks mom, love ya!

My future photographer....

SO....I was getting ready to update my blog (finally). I started downloading my pictures on to the computer & this is what I found! Caleb had been playing with my camera & had taken A TON of pictures. These are just a few of his "BEST" ones. He even figured out how to take a video & took several of those too. I guess now it makes sense why my batteries in my camera are all ready dead! Any one in the market for some free mariachi (sp?) men....just don't tell Layne, they are from his mission, ole!
Don't you just LOVE that lovely clutter!
This is HILARIOUS!! Baby Ruth, anyone??

Happy Birthday Layne

Happy 28th birthday Layne!! I am so grateful Heavenly Father has blessed my life with a guy like Layne! Is his hat on sideways??? (ha haha ha)
Here are some of my favorite things about him:
*his genuine love & appreciation for others.....I think they call that charisma
**he is so good with our boys, they scream with excitement every time he comes home from work **he says he doesn't like chocolate, but he does in little quantities****he is the middle child in a family of 5 boys(were doomed)
**He is very self motivated (can do ANYTHING he puts his mind to) ** ALWAYS cleans up after himself, in fact he is cleaner than I am
**his dark chocolate brown eyes
**his Mexican accent
**the way he spoils me & knows how to cheer me up when some guy thought I was pregnant at Costco this week (I HATE it when that happens, hello DIET here I come!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Labor Day Fun

Nate-dawg.....oops I forgot this pic!

We went up to the LeSeueurs cabin this past weekend & had a blast! Layne went to Colorado with his Dad all last week, so we met him up at the cabin on Friday. I had to pack & get everything ready....so of course I FORGOT ALL the kids clothes....shoes, church clothes, jammies, everything. Just left their sack full of clothes sitting on the ground in my bedroom....geeez~~ but don't worry, good 'ol Wal Mart to the rescue! A very LONG, late shopping trip & sixty dollars later, we were good to go. Our kids were styling! There were 5 couples total & 11 kids...so fun. We had a pick nick at Sunrise & enjoyed the cool air.
