Toot, Toot

Back in the 'good old days' my mom was the coupon queen (her & Sharla Stoker). She was the person that NO ONE wanted to be standing behind in line. She had 2 huge tuber wares FULL of coupons. Back then I hated going grocery shopping with her because of all the rude stares we would get from people. But NOW I LOVE going grocery shopping with her. Funny how times have changed!

Lately, I have been going to the store about once a week & dropping at least $100 bucks each time. Man that really adds up!! So I have decided to do better~clip coupons & shop the sales...I am turning in to a Terol Jr. (my mom).

I went to Frys & got all the stuff above for $22.70! What a bargain...my kids think they have died and gone to heaven because of the sugar cereal....I might have to re-think that purchase, especially when they start bouncing off the walls in the morning. Thanks mom, love ya!

Do I ever remember these days. My mom was all over coupon shopping. We would help her cut them out and file them in the correct spot as kids. I think my mom is a little burnt out from that because now I don't think she will use a coupon ever again. Now she gives me her coupons she gets. That's awesome that you got so much stuff for so cheap.

My mom totally used coupons too - only she would give me the duplicate coupons she had, and make ME buy grocies in a seperate line from her - to get more stuff! I too dreaded the hour long grocery trips ! How funny - I need to use them now too - groceries can really add up fast especially with babies!

Katie, Katie, Katie,,, You crack me up!! Ya know it is a real high when you can get such good deals like that. It gets addicting. I wish stores competed here like they do there. I LOVE a great deal!!!! Even if I don't need it, I buy it because it's such a great deal!!

I can't believe that you got all that stuff for $22 bucks. I just might have to do the dreaded cutting coupons and go coupon grocery shopping. I too, spend at least $100 every week on grocerys. It really adds up. ok, I am seriously going to start doing that,

I used to do the coupon thing until I had so much food and hair/body products I had 2 huge closets FULL of stuff. I stopped probably 6 months ago and im now just getting low. I thought I might pick it up again. You should try www.thegrocerygame.com its a huge help in coupon shopping. Thats what I used and it was so much fun!! It would be a game to me to see how much I could save and to see what peoples reactions are to it who are in back of me. Good job with the savings!!

You crack me up. I was spending 100 a week too and Russell said "thats normal for a family or 4" okay, but I still try to save. That's awesome that you got all that for 22 bucks! I don't have the energy to try to shop like that right now, so you go girl.

That's awesome! I loves sales! I should get better at grocery shopping with coupons. I need to turn into the coupon lady like your mom {and now you}.

P.S. I'll find out the name of the store that sells Milo. And, yeah the grapes tasted normal. If fact, I think they were better than normal. They were the best grapes I've ever had. They weren't sour. They were really sweet and delicious!

GIRL! I'm so glad to see a fellow couponer out in QC. You know I don't shop without coupons. This week there were some really good deals. Yesterday I went to Alby's, Fry's, Safeway and Bashas....spent less than $50 and my trunk was overflowing with groceries. We should go together out here next time!!!

Ok I need to do the coupon thing to. I am the same way, I always go in and end up spending a hundred dollars and didnt get anything for dinners, just junk. So of course i have to go back. i think we have the same exact countertops. I love it.

Seriously, where do you get your coupons? Also, I know we have not really spoken or seen eachother pretty much since you got married, but I was wondering, if you guys would ever be interested in going up to our cabing with us sometime. I think we would all have a lot of fun and Your boys I'm sure would get along just great with Coltin and Conner. Our cabin is up in Heber. About 2 1/2 hours from here.

So, I won't show Mark this...I use a few coupons here and there. My average a week is about $250.00. Yep, that is feeding 7 (big) mouths. The most expensive part is packing 4 school lunches, and you have to send good stuff so your kids aren't emabarrased. I don't know what I will do when they are teenagers. Way to be thrifty, I totally want to be. We are such pigs.

Oh no so it begins. You know once you start you cant stop look at our mothers still... and the quantity gets larger and larger. Its no longer on a need basis, its on a on sale basis. No, I love it. I havent had to start the coupons yet but I know I will be at that point soon. Your the best way to make your mom proud.

Hi Katie...good job!!! I used to do coupons a lot too....it's Soooo fun to get great deals. I need to get back into it. I posted your blog onto my site....I finally figured out how to do it! I'm a geek!

Man, do I remember the days of Terol and Sharla and lots and lots of coupon collating!! Hey have you heard of coupon sense? When I was still teaching I didn't have as much time to do all of the reasearch to find the good deals...they give you weekly updates on what's what. It was fun to do that for a while...especially because all of the other mom's on there would keep everyone else on alert if there were freebies or any other super deals...It's so addicting though (saving) but it's really fun when they pay you to walk out of the store!

My mom was one of the "coupon" moms too! She actually made me go dumpster diving in the recycled dumpster at the park! I remember we ALWAYS had good food though! I don't think I have used a single coupon since I have been married..maybe I should try it sometime. :) You rock!!

I LOVE IT!! I never used to be a coupon user...oh how having a family changes everything! I use them all the time and seriously Katie what a deal you got on all that stuff!!

Okay, I've gotta tell you... this post has inspired me. If other people can do it, then I guess I can too! I dread grocery shopping! But I figure I am going in with the wrong attitude! I joined the grocery game & maybe if I look at it that way (like a game), I won't dread it so much! Thanks for sharing this post!
