Season for Change

There are ALOT of changes going on at the Peterson household, thats what keeps life interesting, right??? First off, we sold our house. We are moving to our new house "in town" in 3 weeks....have I started packing yet? Of course not! We will be sad to leave our beautiful home & neighborhood, but happy we will be closer to civilization & not so much in debt. We will also be in the same neighborhood as Jeffrey & Baribe, some good friends of ours. Any one who knows us knows we move ALOT & every time we move I am HUGE & pregnant. Well....this time is no different! YES I AM PREGNANT!!! For those of you counting, this makes #4. Brody & the new baby will be about 13 months apart. Can you say CRAZY?? This was not something Layne & I had planned, but obviously Heavenly Father had it in our plans. And of course, I trust what He has in store for us.

I would love a girl, but a boy would be just fine with me-that's all I know. I haven't been too sick....just the nasty hormones, mood swings, & morning sickness. Poor Layne, we have been married for 6 years & after this baby I will have been pregnant for 3 years!!! That is half our marriage....Yikes...but poor Layne, what about poor me!!!

Don't worry, I am looking on the bright side of things. I am going to be 25 & all done having kids!! And yes we are REALLY excited for our new little bundle of joy! I just hope I can get through this pregnancy with out looking like her!

So any of you moms out there who have experienced kids so close, please I need advice!! (ie Missy, Kanoe)

OH my goodness girl! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I did not have any that close together so no great advice from me... but I am excited for you and you say this is it for you, you will be done? I for some reason can not make that decision so apparently this is not our last...

Congrats!! I am so excited for you guys! And I know for a fact that you won't end up looking like that lady. :)

Congratulations! How fun for you in a few years when they are older and so close together in school and stuff and you can still be a young mom!

Heather Jeppsen said...

Congratulations! That's a little closer than mine. Mine are 18 months apart. It's hard at first, but you just do what you can each day. You'll love it when they get a little older. Mine play well together now and keep each other entertained and Peyton can keep up with Chase and do pretty much what he can. They'll be a year apart in school too. I think it's almost easier in a way. You'll be used to feeding and taking care of one and having one in diapers, what's one more? Some days it will seem (and you will) like you changed 15 + diapers. You'll get good at carrying two. Mine are getting pretty independent now and I'm actually scared to start all over. Now you'll get it over with and be done. You'll like it. Chase wasn't sleeping through the night so Jeff had to get up with him because I couldn't take care of both of them at the same time. So he was good and learned to sleep with Chase so he could sleep! So you might have to get a little help from Layne. You're a positive and happy person; you'll do fine and love it after the first few months. My cousin has some 16 months apart and loves it.

I made sure Chase was off the bottle and formula at exactly a year so he wouldn't want hers. You could try that or not worry about it. Sorry I left you a book entry. Good luck. Since having mine close, I've also learned that a lot of people have had theirs close too!

OH BOY! I was waiting for the "announcement!" I won't lie....I've known for a week or so, you're Mom told my Mom and of course she called me. I was DYING! Good news: 3 was WAY harder for me than 4. Bad news is: 1 & 2 was WAY easier. Laundry is the biggest thing I've noticed. I do WAY more laundry with 4, than 3....maybe just cus Tilley is still an infant. PS-We've been married 6 years, and I've been either pregnant or NURSING all but like 6 months of our marriage. Crazy haw. I don't know if we're done...but if so, then I will have been done at 25 too! I can't believe you're moving....I'm in the same boat with you here too. Every time we've moved I've been pregnant-VERY pregnant. Had Parker the NIGHT we moved into our first house, had Conway a week after our 2nd, and had Tilley a week after this one. We'll be here for a while. We need to get together, we have plenty to talk about ;)

Oh my goodness, Katie!!! I kind of wanted mine to be closer in age, but it didn't happen that way. You are so young and full of energy, you will handle it better than most. I will be 30 this next year, I need to hurry and get things going so I can be done too. I feel the same way about having girls as you do about boys. I would love to have a little boy someday, but I am all set up for little girls and one more will just add to the fun. Where are you guys moving too? I have been pregnant every time we move. It is a little frustrating because of all the things you shouldn't be doing. Kinda limits you. GOOD LUCK!

Suzy Cummard said...

You are so right... the plan is HIS PLAN. Thanks for the reminder.
You will be an awesome mom, He knows you can handle it!! (SO DO I)

Congrats on both! You are the cutest.

Ashlee said...

Congratulations Katie! You are blessed that you live close to family to help you. When are you due?

Julie Jan said...

Oh my gosh Katie!! I must say I was shocked but know if anyone can handle it it is you. My mom had 6 kids in 8 years and she said it was hard when we were young but it is so much more rewarding when we got older. I agree with her. I am so close to all my siblings. You are such a great mom. Let me know if I can be of any help when you guys move. I can babysit or help with packing. Just let me know. Again congrats and I am hoping it is a girl too!! ;)

Kim said...

Congrats! I hope it isn't that hard on you and maybe you will get your little girl. They are so much fun. Good Luck on your move.

Katie! Congratulations on the new baby and the new house!! How exciting! Where is your new house? I wish I could share advice on the baby thing (and I'm jealous that you're going to be done by 25 because I'm 25 and haven't been able to have my first yet!) but I would just say that it certainly appears that you've done a great job so far, so I wouldn't worry too much. Can't wait to hear what it's going to be!

Brooklyn said...

WHAT!!!!! THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!! Did you build a house? WHere are you moving too? You are probably the cutest pregnant! You are cute with anything! Really, congratulations. This is so special!!!!!

Unknown said...

You are amazing. Can I be more like you some day? Call me if you need ANYTHING. I mean it! I'm so excited for you. Love you!

Missy said...

CONGRATS!!! (Even though I already knew) You will be fine! You have already experienced having kids close together, you don't need any advice. This one will be a little tougher because they will be so close together, but you will manage. You're a great little Mommy, no worries! I had a hard time with #4 cuz my oldest was just a little over 4 yrs. old when I had her. #5 was alot easier because they were 2 years apart...alot easier in my book. But it really is a blast...and I was done with 5 kids at 24 years old, it is nice to be so young and done with that stage...enjoy IT, cuz they will all be in school like mine before you know it! I got through hard times by thinking the same thing...this was HIS PLAN for me, I have to handle it...what a blessing it has been. Your little family is so sweet, good luck with all and the move...change is hard, but that IS what life is about!

I am laughing so hard. I can't even imagine being prego right now.. I think I am still getting rid of the hormones. You should mention that chances of you having twins!! LOL Don't worry we will all help you out!!! I am excited for you!!!

Katie- This is Amber (Ferrell) Palmer. I have been reading your blog for about a month now and thought it was about time to say hi. Your family is so darn cute, and I think it is awesome you are on number four. We are pregnant with number three, and I thought 17 months apart would be close... but you will be great! Good luck!

Stoddard Studios said...

Wow, that's SO awesome that you're pregnant! They are going to be so close. I don't have any advice, soryy. My kids are really far apart. Good luck with that. Ha ha. It shouldn't be too bad. You have lots of helpers at home now. That is cool that you'll be done having kids at 25. Very cool. I hope you get a girl. She'd be so freakin' cute. So, when are you due? That's crazy you sold your house. Moving while pregnant is no fun. It look like I'm going to be doing it soon{if everything works out}. Yikes. And, I did it when I was pretty far along with Bryson too. It's horrible and tiring. Good luck with your move...and pregnancy.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so excited for you. I would love to have kids close together, but that's clearly not in my hands. You are the cutest and should never ever worry about what you look like. You are gorgeous always and I can't wait to find out what you are having. So, when is your due date exactly? Let me know if I can help out in anyway. I would love to watch your boys.

Congratulations Katie!! That is so exciting. Wyatt & Savanna are 13 months apart too. I had the hardest first few months, but now I just love it and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. They are just best buddies and have made #3 seem like a piece of cake. I know you guys will do great with 4 your such a cute family. Hope the move goes smoothly.

KATIE!!! Oh my goodness, girl! Congrats on the house, baby, everything! You are a great mom... you'll be just fine. When my mom had 4 kids, her oldest was just 2 (because of twins and having us all super close together). She said her goal was to just get 1 thing done every day. She said that's how she kept her sanity over the first few months. You're so awesome, I'll bet you can even get 2 things done! =) Best wishes with everything. Let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help ya!
